my job on ship

I realized I haven't written about my actual job. Ha. So basically I am a 'camp counselor' on a ship. We split the kids into either 2-5, 6-12, or teen, unless it is high season, like it was the week of thanksgiving, then we split 6-9 and 10-12. That week I had the 2-5's, with 3 other counselors. Usually 26-30 showed up for program. Blech. The second week I had 6-12's with one other counselor and we had around 16-22 each program, but sometimes only like 11. This week I have teens with one other counselor, there are only 26 on the entire ship, BUT we have only seen 4 show up... and they never stay. So this week we have just been showing up for program and then leaving after 15 minutes because no one shows up. It is making the week very easy, but annoying because we arent going to get tips and we still need to show up even though we know they won't, just a big waste of time.

In the kid programs we start with just 45ish minutes of free play. Then we start program. In 2-5's we just have different themes for each program, do a song, game, coloring craft, whatever. It's fun. In 6-12 we have a ton of cool games that we play, they typically take 45 minutes each so we do a lot in each program. We also start with 45 minutes of free play. The games are really fun and usually start with forming teams, coming up with a name and making a poster or something like that. It's also really fun.

The program is the same every week. So once I get to know the programs, which won't take long, I will know them all quite well pretty quickly.
